AKC Titles FAQs

  1. Can I still participate if my dog isn’t AKC registered? If your dog hasn’t been registered with the organization, you can get your AKC number via these links for purebreds or mixed breeds.

  2. Doodles are considered mixed breeds by the AKC.

  3. How much do these titles cost? AKC determines title fees, typically around $30.

  4. What do all of these titles means? For more information on each title, you can review the AKC’s guide here.

  5. Do I pay the AKC as well at Courteous Canine? Yes, the fees listed on the website are the class tuition.

  6. Am I required to submit titles to the AKC? No

  7. We recommend submitting your title via the portal not US Postal Mail. Portal can be found here: AKC Portal
