Get Focused!

Class Description: Impulse Control for Dogs

Does your dog have trouble focusing when there are distractions? Is she easily over stimulated or forget all about listening to you when she’s excited? Is it hard to bring her with you because you know she can’t behave? Put all that behind you! Turn stress to confidence, convert distraction to rapt attention, and learn ways to get your dog to respond reliably off-leash in stressful situations. In this class, based on the principles in the bestselling book Control Unleashed by Leslie McDevitt, we show you how to teach your dog to stay calm and focus on you in even the most challenging surroundings.

How this class will benefit you at home:

  • Your dog will be less stressed and able to relax and pay attention

  • You’ll learn how to read your dog’s body language and reduce his stress

  • You and your dog will build your teamwork and self-control.

  • Behaviors: go to and stay on mat, offered focus / look at me, come when called with distractions, leave it, loose leash walking with distractions
